Every week a parent asks us the same question in different words: what should I actually be buying, installing or signing my child up for? The honest answer is almost always: nothing yet. What a Primary 4 learner needs first is not a tool but a habit of mind — noticing patterns, questioning a confident-sounding answer, breaking a big question into small testable ones.
We spend the first term on exactly this, entirely unplugged. Learners sort, classify and predict before they ever touch a keyboard. By the time software enters the room in Primary 5, they already know what they are trying to get it to do.
That ordering — judgment before tools — is the single biggest predictor of whether a learner still enjoys the subject three years later.
